Modern airports are undergoing a major transition toward carbon neutrality. Under programs like the European Green Deal and the FAA Airport Improvement Program, airport operators are upgrading their fleets from diesel-burning ground support hardware to electric Ground Support Equipment (e-GSE). This shift aims to reduce carbon emissions on the apron while lowering maintenance costs and noise pollution.
Solid-state Ground Power Units (GPUs) are key to this modernization. Unlike traditional diesel-driven generators that run constantly to power parked aircraft, electric and battery-powered GPUs convert local airport grid power to supply high-stability 400Hz AC and 28.5V DC output.
